LCHA Education Program

a new initiative to serve students in our local schools

Welcome to the LCHA Education Program pages:

For the 2016 – 2017 school year a catalog has been prepared detailing all of the offerings presently available, and an invitation to contact me with special re-quests. I am happy to discuss how I can assist in enhancing an area of study that you do not addressed in the catalog.

New this year are the presentations: “Navigating the Coastal Waters and High Seas” and “Seventeenth Century Fisheries of Mid-Coast Maine.” You can view the details of these two presentations on page 3 of the catalog.

Our goal through the LCHA Education Outreach Program, now in its third year, is to enhance your curriculum, bringing an insight to the rich local history of this area to students. I would like to highlight a few points:

• The Lesson resources are designed to be interdisciplinary; history is not just a series of dates and events but a record of daily life;

• A staff member is available to present and assist a class with one or more of the Lesson Resources; In-school presentations are not limited to those listed – I am here to work with you, using the resources and historical background of the three LCHA historic sites to support your students’ studies. I am happy to discuss the needs of your curriculum and how we can best support those in fresh and innovative ways.

The links below will take you to the 2016-2017 catalog “Discovering a Heritage” and the “Educational Resources Order Form” Thank you for considering the Education Outreach Program of Lincoln County Historical Association for your students. Please feel free to write or call with any questions.
